ECOLOGY LECTURE SERIES

ECOLOGY LECTURE SERIES

Each summer the MAI Ecology committee presents a series of lectures related to the ecology and history of Monhegan Island. These talks are generally held in person at the Monhegan Schoolhouse at 7:30pm. At times we have also been able to provide talks virtually via Zoom. See below for further information including recordings of some past lectures. Attendance is free of charge, although donations are greatly appreciated (suggested donation = $10).

Art, Ecology, and the Resilience of a Maine Island:

The 2025 Monhegan Wildlands Lecture and Workshop Series

In conjunction with the exhibition The Monhegan Wildlands: Art, Ecology, and the Resilience of a Maine Island, the Monhegan Associates are collaborating with the Monhegan Museum of Art & History to present an exciting series of lectures and workshops this coming summer. Inspired by the exhibit’s topics, materials, and themes, this lecture series invites people to deepen their understanding of the cultural, ecological, and artistic history of Monhegan Island. Below is a list of our guest speakers and workshop leaders. This season’s lecture series has been generously sponsored by the Monhegan House.  Further event details below.
